sk:n - Non-Surgical Fillers And Injectables

crack

Cosmetic surgery appears to be the norm now-adays – either everyone knows someone who has had it or they know someone who is considering it....or they know someone who has lied about it! Either way, it’s out there in all shapes and forms and is becoming more affordable and accessible by the day. But...which one should you opt for....?

For those of you who have been following my column this year will know that I have been advocating the treatments on offer at sk:n in Montpellier so it was no surprise to me to discover they are offering the very best ‘high-street’ surgery of the moment.

Sk:n have a choice of three non-surgical fillers and injectables – perfect to do in the run-up to Christmas and require only a modicum of forethought. They recommend you book when you know you have a quiet weekend/ few days after the treatment to allow the skin to recover and return to its natural hue.

So, which one is best for you?
Fillers are implanted into tissue to give a fuller look and reduce depressions and scars. Needless to say, each client has a specifically designed and tailor-made treatment depending upon the unique needs of each patient. If facial lines are a concern why not try Juvederm ULTRA. It is specially formulated with hyaluronic acid which is naturally found in the skin anyway and the filler just replaces what has diminished over time, usually due to the natural ageing process. This ULTRA is perfect for plumping up the lips and cheeks and making fine lines a thing of the past. It sounds good to me and the fact that the results can last for up to 12 months make it all the more appealing.

Should your requirements be a tad more drastic then you will be coaxed into using the Juvederm VOLUMA which, although similar to the ULTRA, the effects last for approximately 6 months longer and it is primarily used for plumping up the chin, cheeks and cheekbones and smoothing the jowls and jawline that have lost volume. If, however, your wrinkles and lines are more ‘deep-set’ then the Sculptra is the filler for you. It lasts for up to two years and stimulates collagen to work miracles on the face to restore volume.

Alternatively sk:n also perform Botox treatments which are especially popular for those whose requirements be concentrated on the upper third of their face. Botox weakens and inactivates the muscles that wrinkle the skin – basically allowing you to break the habit and as the muscle weakens the skin relaxes and the wrinkles, caused by muscle contractions, soften and often disappear. There is even a Botox which can remedy excessive sweating. Ah the joy of living in the 21st century!
