Bespoke Cotswolds is a high quality domestic cleaning company run by Lisa Lawrence. Before moving to the Cotswolds, Lisa ran a similar business in Lichfield ‘Maids of Lichfield’ for 10 years. It was so successful that she employed 20 staff and all her business came through word of mouth and recommendation.
‘Clients were amazed at the transformation when they returned home, we provided a very high quality clean, attention to detail was amazing and most importantly every visit was consistent’ she says.
In the Cotswolds with her family and bringing up her son, Lisa realised that the requirement for a quality cleaning service was as strong as ever and nobody was offering a service in the Cotswolds and Cheltenham close to her previous company.
‘What makes us unique,’ Lisa tells me, ‘is quality. We are all about quality and consistency.’
Lisa meets the client, discussing their home and their individual requirements. Lisa then prepares a checklist which she gives to the girls to work from, so there are no mistakes or misunderstandings. Lisa regularly checks each home herself before the girls leave. She likes to do this herself so she can keep on top of her very high standards.
Each house is different and every client is different but at Bespoke cotswolds we appreciate that every job is someone’s ‘home’ and we are trained to not only respect a clients possessions but to give them an ‘individual’ clean and guarantee the same consistent result week in week out.
The girls undergo an extensive training period which last up to three weeks and ensures a high standard. New team members start with a mentor. They learn about cleanliness and hygiene plus cleaning wood and electrical appliances. Every room is hygienically cleaned first and then buffed and polished.
One of the cornerstones of Lisa’s business is her staff. That is why she pays her girls above the average rate in order to attract the right people and keep them. They are all employed by the company, not as contractors. They wear a uniform with the company logo and all references are checked. They use only company equipment and products in which they have been trained. The company is fully insured.
‘We want to stay personal and bespoke,’ says Lisa. ‘We don’t want to become a large faceless
company, that’s why we don’t do contract office cleaning. We don’t want to lose touch with the personal side and our clients. Selecting a company for your home is very different’.
As well as the cleaning side of the business, Lisa also offers a ‘bespoke concierge service’ I had no idea what this means – a concierge sounds like the man who takes your luggage at a hotel – so I asked Lisa to explain.
‘Bespoke Cotswolds,’ she says, ‘can offer a range of helpful and reliable concierge services to its housekeeping and cleaning clients. It started simply from multiple requests from clients.’
You come home to a beautifully cleaned house where you now want to fully appreciate the surroundings and relax. Fresh flowers, refrigerator stocked with local sourced quality food and all of those ‘chores’ covered so that you can make the most of the ‘special’ Cotswolds.
Concierge services include: Dry cleaning and laundry service, watering your plants and garden, picking up your post, collecting parcels from the Post Office, receiving deliveries, acting as a point of contact in your absence, filling your fridge and cupboards with the necessities for your visit, weekly food shopping and special event shopping, pet sitting, private dining for that special occasion, prepared meals by a trained chef, using all local produce delivered to your home (weekly menus provided) and even freshly homemade scones and cakes.
There is even an out of hours number and last minute requests service and they can be ‘the local contact on call in Cheltenham and North Cotswolds.’ This is ideal for second home owners.
She organises all the concierge services herself and only ever uses people she knows or who come highly recommended.
