Reiki Awareness Week

crack

The UK Reiki Federation will be holding its annual Reiki Awareness Week from 5-11 June 2011. Members of the UK Reiki Federation will be raising awareness of Reiki and giving individuals the opportunity to try out Reiki for themselves.

Why not treat yourself to a harmonising Reiki session which aims to restore and stimulate your body’s own natural healing capacity and take you into a deep state of relaxation and peace, allowing your body to rebalance and to support you in feeling more connected to life.

We all need recharging at some point in our lives - Reiki gives you the means to recharge your own battery, renew your energy and totally unwind. Engendering greater inner harmony and balance, this Japanese healing treatment will help to still the mind, calm the emotions, heal the body and awaken the spirit, bringing inner peace, profound relaxation and aid healing on all levels. Regular Reiki treatments promote a calmer response to life’s challenges.

Each client is treated individually, addressing the areas of need and supporting the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

• What is it?
Developed in Japan, Reiki is a system of natural healing whereby the practitioner uses the energy (Ki) flowing through his or her hands in a sequence of positions over the body to bring about deep relaxation. Reiki removes energy blockages, detoxifies the body, provides healing universal life energy, and restores the body’s energy field to its natural frequency. A Reiki session is usually carried out with the recipient lying down or sitting. There is no need to remove any clothing. The practitioner will place the hands on, or off the body, but in a non intrusive way. Reiki may be experienced as a flow of energy, mild tingling, warmth, coolness, other sensations, or nothing at all. People have reported that they found Reiki to be deeply relaxing, and had a profoundly calming effect which they have found to be particularly beneficial in times of stress.

This holistic and natural energy healing system touches all levels of body, mind and spirit. A Reiki treatment is therapeutic, rather than diagnostic, in that it aims to support a clients self-healing, not alleviate any particular diagnosed illness.

• What can it do for me?
Reiki gently balances and calms the emotions, restores self-worth and gives back a sense of purpose. When the spiritual body is healed, the emotional body will be healed, when the emotions are healed then the physical body will be ready and prepared to accept any further healing from any source, either traditional or complimentary. Reiki will go where it is needed always. Reiki healing has been found to be especially beneficial for stress, grief, worry and anxiety. Often, painful conditions are relieved by Reiki healing, as it promotes deep peace and relaxation within so easing tension.

• What can you expect?
The client remains fully clothed at all times as the practitioner goes through a set healing process placing hands on or just off the body from the head and working down finishing at the feet as agreed with the client prior to the treatment. During the treatment the body will only take the amount of energy that it requires. This can take anything from half an hour to an hour depending on how much energy your body takes. If a client is wishing to work on a specific issue or health problem it is advisable to book for three one-hour treatments. But first come along for one treatment to see if you like the experience.

• What you will feel?
Some people feel nothing; this does not mean that the Reiki has not worked. Some people will feel heat, cold, or a combination of both, you may see colours, and you may feel tingling. All of these feelings are the energy working though your body for your highest good.
