The Burlington Gallery

crack

If you’re pottering around the Montpellier shops this spring, or looking for that special something for your home, step into The Burlington Gallery at the rear of The Courtyard, it’s a hidden gem!

A treasure trove of affordable contemporary art, unique jewellery, glassware, bronzes, cards and nick-knacks galore, the Burlington Gallery is a shady retreat where you can shop at your leisure and get useful information and advice from its knowledgeable owner, Robert Cox and a very warm welcome from Rosie the resident Jack Russell Terrier!

The gallery walls are filled with art of all descriptions from new names to more established and well-known artists. Robert also runs an online shop with lots more available to order at very competitive prices.

If you take a trip there during May you can enjoy some wonderful Dale Bowen landscapes; Sally Stafford floral prints; and some quirky ‘dotty’ pictures by Gloucester artist Andrew Francis who also creates some beautiful stained-glass pictures too.

Artist Robert Goldsmith’s Cheltenham scenes are always a favourite as are Brian Lancaster’s scenes from around Gloucestershire.

For lovers of the intricate wildlife bronzes by Richard Cooper and Company among others, there is a half-price sale on during May – don’t miss out!

Quirky, contemporary jewellery by P&M is a must this summer with a special ‘Daisy Valentine’ range that is very eye-catching and easy to wear.

And other notable collections are glass art by Gregg Anston Rice and sculptures by Paul Harvey.

Robert also sells a selection of greetings cards, carefully chosen to echo the themes of the Gallery. And it is one of the few places in Cheltenham to offer a bespoke picture framing service.

Robert said: “I try to cater for all tastes and change things around and display new work on a regular basis, according to the season. Regular customers like to call in and see what’s new but a lot of new customers either discover us by chance or seek us out.”

The Burlington Gallery is based at 10, The Courtyard and Robert always extends a warm welcome to customers old and new. It’s truly a hidden treasure in a beautiful setting.
