Revamped Mondo Opens Its Doors crack
Cheltenham hairdressers Mondo was brought to life with glitz and glamour for the official opening of the revamped Montpellier boutique salon during November.
More than 100 invited guests turned out to witness the unveiling of the revamped salon and were treated to hair consultations, complimentary Davines products, a tour of the salon and delicious food and drink provided by Montpellier-based Gusto Deli.
Jenni Silver, who attended the salon unveiling, said: “The salon looks great, it’s a fab environment. It was great to speak to the staff and get advice on how I can achieve exactly what I want with my hair type. I’m looking forward to my first visit as a client.”
The salon has undergone a massive refurbishment project which has seen a stylish new floor added to complement the overhauled ground floor – resulting in an elegant hybrid of contemporary design set amongst traditional Georgian architecture, creating an atmosphere of luxurious comfort.
Mondo Guidetti, salon owner, said: “We were delighted so many people turned out to support the unveiling of the salon, it was a wonderful evening for all Mondo staff and we’re delighted so many clients, new and old, were able to celebrate with us.”
The salon, which opened in 2005, prides itself on creating not only beautiful, stylish and cutting-edge hairstyles, but also creating healthy, beautiful hairstyles that clients wear with confidence.
Mondo added: “The extension of the salon is a milestone for us, the additional space enables us to cater for our client’s individual requirements - from those who are here to relax and make an experience of their visit, or for those that are busy and want to be in-and-out but still receive excellent, quality service, we now have space to accommodate everyone.”
Mondo is at the helm of the salon, and along with his 11-strong team of stylists, is passionately committed to improving the health of each client’s hair. As a concept salon for Italian product brand Davines, Mondo uses the products, which boast an army of A-list devotees including Jennifer Aniston, to reconstruct and replenish clients’ hair from the inside out. The Davines Concept Salon status sets the salon apart from any other in the South West – as it not only uses the products, but salon owner Mondo is also teacher for the Davines Academy, travelling the globe teaching the latest hairdressing techniques.
Mondo, who was born in Cheltenham, started his career as an apprentice in the Montpellier salon he now owns. He went to London to work for Vidal Sassoon, before returning to Cheltenham to take over the salon, transforming it into Mondo. The unveiling marks the beginning of an exiting period for the salon which will include offering new salon services and may lead to additional salons being opened in the future.
Mondo added: “I’ve been working with Davines for many years and am committed to bringing the ethos to Cheltenham. I teach at the Davines academy in London and next year will launch a similar academy at the Montpellier salon – this will ensure that our staff are at the cutting edge of hairdressing both from a technical and an environmental perspective.”
