John was a competitive sportsman until a serious injury from a car crash left him with broken legs, arms and ribs. Even after physiotherapy, he still wasn’t feeling right and then he discovered yoga.

It helped John’s road to recovery so much, that John decided to train as a yoga teacher and specialises in the lyengar method. Anyone of any age and fitness level can benefit from yoga and lyengar is ideal for people who suffer from back pain and arthritis.

The teaching helps you focus on correct alignment of the body, ensuring you’re working safely, with maximum benefit to your flexibility, strength and wellbeing.

Classes generally start with simple poses and gradually move towards more advanced positions, ending with a period of relaxation to clear the mind. Props such as blocks and belts are sometimes used, to allow those with less strength or flexibility to work correctly and achieve their full potential.
