Venture Photography

crack

Venture - the largest photography company in the UK - was founded in 2000 with the aim of revolutionising portrait photography by reinventing the staged “family portrait”. A Venture shoot is designed to be a full experience, capturing the magic moment by encouraging natural, playful behaviour
during the shoot, resulting in photographs which shows the subject in their true light.

When Venture Photography opened on Montpellier Walk in Cheltenham in 2003, it helped revolutionise the portrait photography market with its new contemporary style and fresh approach. Seven years on, the team at the Cheltenham studio are still innovating and wowing families across the region with their unique photography and eye-catching products.

Venture Cheltenham is owned by multi-award winning photographer Michael Stephenson who is supported by a creative team of ten. Michael joined the Venture group back in 2001 as a photographer at the Witney Studio before relocating to Cheltenham to invest in his own studio.

“When I joined Venture ten years ago, it was thrilling to be part of such an exciting
movement. Previous to Venture, portrait photography was traditionally fairly dull. The Venture group changed all of that with the new methods and techniques we were pioneering in our photography to offer a more fun and relaxed experience for our clients as well as superb, attention-grabbing images. I jumped at the chance to invest in my own studio, and Cheltenham has been a wonderful place to be based for the last seven years”.

The Cheltenham team enjoyed international recognition recently when the studio was named as Venture’s most successful studio in 2009, earning them a top award at a prestigious London awards ceremony.
Michael, along with studio general manager Geraldine Hureau, collected the award on behalf of the team.

Cheltenham Style Director James Lowther says that in order to make sure they produce exceptional results for clients, the studio team will speak with clients at length before they even enter the studio to brainstorm potential themes or styles to be incorporated into their shoot.

“We encourage people to bring props or special personal items to their photography session, maybe related to their hobbies or interests or perhaps even a well-loved family pet, to make sure that the finished result is a true reflection of their lives and relationships at that moment in time. Anyone can take a photograph of what people look like but we aim to go deeper than that by capturing images showing what people are like in terms of spirit, character and personality.”

Venture is currently offering a photography session and a complimentary 7 x 5 image usually worth £145 for just £25.
