The latest from Regent Arcade
After over a year of building work, our frontage development is officially finished, and we’ve just proudly unveiled Cheltenham’s first ever H&M and a two storey River Island.
Following hot on the heels of River Island which opened in early August, on Thursday 19th September hundreds of excited shoppers flocked to the brand new H&M to check out the squeaky clean, shiny new store.
The atmosphere was electric and excited shoppers queued up ahead of the grand opening at 11am to try and get their hands on a wristband, entitling them to a fabulous 25% off their full purchase on the day.
Goodie bags and magazines were handed out to keep the crowd entertained during their long wait. The doors were opened slightly earlier as rain began to fall – and just before 11am Cheltenham got its first glimpse of the stunning new three storey unit which has been so eagerly and long awaited.
There was something for everyone on the day; face painting for the little ones, a nail salon and live music throughout the store. A DJ was on hand to fill the store with the latest club hits all day.
H&M has a whole host of celebrity fans, including Kate Bosworth, Eva Longoria and Whitney Port. The Cheltenham store stocks ladieswear, menswear, accessories, maternity and kidswear.
Centre manager John Forward said “it’s been a fantastic opening day and it’s clear that this store, along with the new River Island, will be a massive draw for shoppers within Cheltenham and further afield. For our retailers inside the centre too, we’re confident that the extra footfall will give them a definite boost”.
Inside, the store is glossy and clean, with rows of colourful clothing inspired by fresh catwalk designs. The beauty of this store is its affordability; trends are made accessible, whatever your budget.
The kidswear section is brilliant for mums and dads on a budget too. Enekes store manager Mark Davies commented “People are used to travelling to Gloucester for H&M so it’s brilliant we have this great new store to attract new shoppers to the Arcade. The new frontage looks fab and again will help attract people to our stores.”
The new H&M and River Island stores are located at the front of Regent Arcade, and are open 7 days a week.
