Let's Get Physical

This month Hannah Wright chats about the up and coming events happening in Cheltenham within the next few months

This week I received a flyer alerting me of impending roadworks in order to facilitate the Cheltenham Half Marathon on 27th September. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this event, and although I won’t be taking part this year, I see entries are open to those who are feeling more sprightly. Whilst I don’t want to think on to the end of summer just yet, there are a few exciting things in the coming weeks to look forward to.

Cheltenham is about to get rather active. September 18th is the start of the Rugby World Cup and Gloucester will be one of the main venues. Cheltenham is hosting two of the teams, Argentina and Tonga at Cheltenham Rugby Club and nearby
Hartpury College is hosting Scotland and USA.

Cheltenham is in prime location to access the games at Kingsholm Stadium. As the area gets into the spirit of the World Cup, there will be plenty of rugby themed fringe events popping up across the town. It's exciting to be part of such an
important event, which adds to the already rich sporting calendar in Cheltenham, and draws attention to the excellent sports facilities that are tucked away in the town.

For those who are interested in exercising their funny bone, keep an eye out for the Cheltenham Comedy Festival events, starting on 20th September.
